Here is my submission for the this years San Diego Comic Con Book.

The TMNT have always had a special place in my heart.

When I was first introduced to comic stores my small world changed. I always got my comics at the 7-11 rack, or the supermarket. For christmas one year in 1988 santa brought me a gift certificate for a comic shop. I couldn't even wrap my mind around what a comic shop must be, but I had to go the next day. Walking into what had to be the best place ever to exist absolutely changed my life. A store of comics!

I had around $100 to spend and had no idea what to spend it on, but the shop worker helped to recommend selections. TMNT, Fish Police, Boris the Bear, Elementals, Grendel, Robotech, The American, Dark Horse Presents, and a few other various indies suddenly entered into my imagination. The TMNT issue i got was Tales #3. The art blew me away, the shading was stunning. From there, I had to have more, I had to know where ever comic shop was in my area, and I had to know what they had in their long boxes. I would spend days (yes days) culling through a stores innovatory, making mental notes on what was available and when I thought I could afford it. I found the low number TMNT issues at a local flea market. On their comic wall they had the first 8 issues of the TMNT (first prints) neatly tacked to their wall. I planned and schemed many times, but never was able to afford to purchase a single issue.

RSA Conference

Ok, I haven't posted in awhile.
I got really busy at work at cyberia.

Cyberia did the videos for the RSA 08 Conference this year. RSA is the foremost conference on IT security. This years featured person was the British cryptographer Alan Turing. For the Video, which i was the creative director & illustrator on, I did over 100 pencil rendering.

Turing is extremely interesting and a very complex english mathematician and cryptographer who was was vital to the allies winning WW2.

Here is a poster for a documentary on the Children of Peace. Its basically the logo.

The Bi-line:
This is the story of Binh Rybacki, a Vietnamese refugee, now an American citizen, who is fighting to save the forgotten children of Vietnam — the Children of Peace.

pretty cool. the original photo is by Karen Schuler and has become the base of the logo.

simple. bold. dramatic.

LEAVE NO SOLDIER MOVIE POSTER

Just finished this movie poster for a documentary called Leave No Soldier. The Movie concentrates on american soldiers and what they deal with when they get back from war. I was very happy with how the camulage in the red- white-blue came out.

Was insane drawing it though.

hand painted the logo with white out, used 3 bottles of the stuff, then composed bits and pieces in photoshop.

I think i'm going to do a small run of these on archival.

This is a little character i designed that did win a competition. It was for a contest for dark horse comics. It won me a trip to Wiz Chicago for the wife and I, I also got me charecter drawn by the talented mr. Todd Demong in one of Dark Horses long forgotten comics.

So, this was one of my entries for the San Diego Comic Con Book this year (07) and it actually made it into the book.

Done in pencil, and some greyscales added in Photoshop.

The Rocketeer was one of my Faverate Charecters as a kid.

I can remember sitting in the back of my parents toyota van looking over a Comic Shop News free newspaper that had a giant add of the Rocketeer (the cover to issue 1 by comico) and I had to have it. It was one of those jaw droppoing illustrations and charecter designs.

Dave Stevens is a god.

I've had a drawing in every souvenir book for the last 5 years or so.

This one didn't make the cut (I was a little surprised, I think its pretty sweet).

It was for Star Wars 30th Aniversary.

After Boba Fett, Darth Vader is my all time Fav.

Its made of thousands of stars. took forever.
